Grand Opening

Mark your calendars; the library
staff and the grand opening committee are planning for a grand
opening of our new library on Sunday September 7th. This date
is subject to revision for construction or other unforeseen events.
The library will be open for business on Monday September 8th.
YOUR
CONTRIBUTION TO THE CAPITAL CAMPAIGN WILL
“HELP WRITE THE NEXT CHAPTER” FOR THE ROCKWALL COUNTY LIBRARY!
Your
contribution may be a cash gift, or you may wish to consider a
variety of planned giving methods including charitable trusts,
bequests, gift annuities, or negotiable instruments such as stocks,
bonds, or mutual funds that might offer significant tax advantages.
If you are considering such gifts we urge you to consult with your
tax accountant, attorney, or financial advisor to determine the form
of giving most suited to your specific financial situation. All
gifts are appreciated. Larger gifts may be paid over an extended
period. The amounts and intervals of payments can be scheduled at
your convenience.
The new Rockwall County Library is anticipated
to open in fall 2008. Funds are needed to cover the purchase of
books, furniture, computers, copy machines, book shelving, and other
materials. The library’s collection offerings will
increase and new services will include:

A large Community Room to be used for
informational and educational seminars, business meetings, and
additional library programs including local authors and artists

Additional emphasis on children’s and teen
activities |

Access to new areas of technology and a spacious
computer area |

A dedicated Literacy Center that will house the
very successful Reading for Adults program |

A World Language area that will contain adult
and children’s books, magazines, and multiple types of media in
various languages |

A more comprehensive genealogy and Rockwall
County history selection |
There are many ways to contribute and no check is too small or too
large! You can donate a book to the opening collection for $25,
and the book can be dedicated to, in memory of, or in honor of a person
of your choice. We need a minimum of $150,000 to enhance our
existing collection and make it ready for opening day of the new library.
